Job Security
When do you call a job, secure? What are the measurements? Does it even have any meaning? Do you have to rely on your job security?
Personally, I have come to believe that the concept of job security is meaningless, or let me say should be meaningless. You should be prepared to move on to your next job very quickly and naturally.
My manager Bill, who was a vice president simply was "terminated" yesterday. It didn't come as a shock for him, more surprising he described it. We knew that the new manager was not a fan of him and they didn't share too many ideas or management methods. So about two weeks ago he was kinda demoted to an architectural rule. And yesterday, that happened.
I have to get used to this fact: Be ready to move on.
